Dr. Avi Weisfogel’s goal has always been interested in helping and improving his patients’ lives. He has recently started a GoFundMe campaign for Operation Smile. His campaign is a mix of his favorite two things, dentistry and humanity. All monies raised on his GoFundMe campaign will go strictly to Operation Smiles. His goal is to raise $2000 to help doctors improve the lives of those who would not otherwise be able to do so on their own.
Operation Smiles was started after Dr. William Magee Jr. and his wife Kathleen Magee volunteered for a medical group who fixed cleft lips and cleft palates. After seeing the overwhelming need the people had for surgical help for their children, Dr. Magee Jr. and his wife started Operation Smiles. Operation Smiles is a program that gives millions of children help with their cleft lip, cleft palate and other facial deformities. The program goes all around the world finding deserving children that need help. They provide children with safe surgery and care who do not have access to these procedures. They not only provide surgery they also provide after care, research of the cause of cleft lip and palate, training and education and they advocate for children’s rights to surgery.
