OSI Group is a food processing company with bases in Asia, America, and Europe. The corporation came into being in 1909 and has been under the leadership of David McDonald since 1987. David McDonald who is a graduate of the Iowa State University has worked at OSI Group for more than three decades. With his degree in Animal Science, he has been able to bring many transformations to OSI Group LLC. At age 52, David currently works as President and CEO to of OSI group and lives in Chicago. Apart from his involvements with OSI Group, David has been part and parcel of the North American Meat Institute serving as its chairman. Besides, McDonald is currently an independent director for Marfrig Global Foods and a director for OSI International Foods, a company whose location is in Australia.
Through the years, David has been able to sharpen his skills in disciplines like sales management, mergers, negotiation, agribusiness, agriculture, food science and service, customer service, quality assurance, and marketing strategy. Other skills at David’s disposal include inventory management, product development, forecasting, strategic planning, and product development. In 2016, OSI Group acquired Baho Food, an organization that dwells on the manufacture of deli meats, snacks, and fast foods. The move brought a lot of joy to David since he saw it as an opportunity for OSI to extend its reach to the greater European region.
Taking a look at what OSI and Baho had to offer, David McDonald OSI Group was confident enough that the two entities would work together towards achieving a common goal. During the acquisition, OSI Group also got access to five of Baho’s branches. Thus, OSI was the primary beneficiary in this transaction. Since then, OSI group has chosen to retain Baho’s first employees because David believes in working with numbers. The two entities are working together so as to bring better service delivery to their customers.
